The Flipping Flea
Repurposed, Recycled, Re-interpreted...
The Flipping Flea is located in the Mahany Building on Sixth and Taos Street in the historic district of Georgetown, Colorado, part of the Georgetown/Silver Plume National Historic Landmark District. Built in 1867 by early Georgetown investor Jerry G. Mahany, it is the perfect setting for the Flipping Flea, for it has had its own share of repurposed lives. Most notably it was all but destroyed by a fire in 1974. Referred to by locals as BOB (burnt out building), it stayed vacant for 26 years until Historic Georgetown Inc. purchased and restored it in 1999.
The Flipping Flea offers an eclectic mix of eco-friendly fashion and home furnishings made from repurposed, recycled and salvaged materials. Many of our items are handcrafted by local artists. We also sell vintage and antique items that have a lot of life still left in them.
